EGM 26th February 2018
Over the last few months it has become clear that we do not have sufficient Committee capacity to lead the skiff build and momentum in the build project has waned. All of us have had to deal with significant home/work demands (eg I have had to deal with a flare in a chronic illness) which has meant that we have not been able to give the amount of time required to carry the build forward and this does not look set to change. At our last Committee meeting, we decided to call an EGM to wind up the project in its present form. Since that meeting, I have been in discussion with some other local organisations to see what options might be open to us regarding working in partnership, or to see if it might be possible for another organisation to take up the build and hopefully we will be able to find a positive outcome from the present situation. As lot of time and energy has been put into the project to get us to this stage and it would be great if it could be taken forward in some way. If you or an organisation you are associated with are interested in taking on the build please let me know as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you would like to be kept in contact of future developments or would be interested in being part of a future in either skiff building or rowing.
The Extraordinary General Meeting will be on 26th February at 7.30 pm in Lydney Community Centre
The agenda will be deciding on the future of the project, the kit (already purchased) and the reimbursements of grant monies as necessary.
Best wishes
Sue Llewellyn
